Nissan’s partner Renault have declared the full production of the four all-electric concept models that it displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. French automaker confirmed production of the futuristic looking Twizy Z.E. city car (for Zero Emission) and the funky Zoe Z.E. sporty supermini, but it also revealed the plants where the two cars will be built. The Twizy Z.E. based 1+1 seater that will be manufactured at Renault’s Valladolid factory in Spain from 2011. It would be powered by an electric motor that makes 15kW (20HP) and 70Nm of torque and drives the rear wheels. The Twizy will be followed in 2012 by a sporty, all-electric supermini dimly inspired by the Zoe Z.E concept car. It will be produced at the firm’s Flins plant near Paris, France. Renault said that it expects that this urban model will account for two-thirds of the Group’s EV sales in Europe. The other two electric vehicles that Renault is planning to produce is the Fluence Z.E. compact sedan and the Kangoo Z.E. small van. Share and Enjoy:

Niels van Roij’s described the TVR Artemis My graduation project consisted of both interior- and exterior design of an eco friendly TVR sports car, named Artemis. The TVR history and brand identity inspired me, but it was mainly the absolutely unique design-DNA of their last models which triggered me to revitalise the TVR design language. This DNA is referred to as feminine curves. Unlike most sports car manufacturers which choose to style their cars rather muscular and aggressively, TVR was unique in their approach to automotive design in choosing for elegance and grace. Despite the company’s bankruptcy in 2006, I decided to base my project on this brand. Feminine curves are found throughout the design of Artemis. For instance, the typical TVR slit at the door continues gracefully in the a-pillar. This three dimensional approach to shut lines can be found as well at the nose and rear end of the car. The slits hide the head- and taillights. During the day you will see clean body work, at night unique LED signature lighting. The interior styling is executed likewise. The controls are hidden in openings in the dashboard, so the surfaces stay clean. The power to weight ratio has [...]

For last 7 months we have been waiting for Tesla to announce its intentions to build the Roadster Sport, a higher performing version of its electric sportscar. The Silicon Valley-based automaker has finally offered up some real high-res images of the EV along with more details explaining what makes the Sport extra special. Source : Tesla First and foremost, the Sport’s hand-wound electric motor adds a bit more oomph to the already quick Roadster, taking off two-tenths of a second in the rush to 60 mph (it now checks in at just 3.7 seconds). Also included are bare carbon fiber hood louvers and rear spoiler, a push-button transmission selector to replace the aluminum shift knob and a central touch screen that displays estimated range along with the total number of oil barrels saved over a fossil-fueled automobile.
